• From the terminal: Exit the terminal building and turn left, heading north for approx. 250m. Turn left onto Ossie James Drive and we are approx. 50m on the right hand side. Approx. 6 minutes on foot.
• From Hamilton city: take State Highway 3 (Ohaupō Road) south towards Te Awamutu, follow the airport signs through Rukuhia, then turn left onto Airport Road (SH21). Approx. 20 minutes from the CBD.
• From Cambridge or SH1: take the Tamahere exit and head west on Airport Road (SH21).

You've got two ways to collect your rental car at Hamilton Airport. Either way, there's no waiting at a terminal counter.

Option 1: Pick-up-and-go from the airport car park

1. Book online and choose Hamilton Airport as your pick-up location.
2. Complete your paperwork online before you fly: licence details, driver information and payment. You will receive an online check-in request 48 hours before your pick-up.
3. Add your flight number so we can keep an eye on your arrival.
4. Land and collect your keys from the lockbox located on one of the poles behind the RaD Car Parks. The code to the lock box will be emailed 24hrs before your pick-up
5. Find your car in the terminal car park. Exit arrivals, walk across the road into the car park, turn left then right to cross the pedestrian crossing; RaD car parks will be on your right side.

Option 2: Collect from our branch on Ossie James Drive

Prefer to meet the team? Walk approx. six minutes from the terminal to our branch at 76 Ossie James Drive. We'll hand over your keys, walk you round the car and answer any questions about your route.

·       Minimum Age – You must be at least 18 years old to hire a car with RaD Hamilton.

·       Domestic Licence Information - All hirers must have a driver's licence to drive a motor vehicle. Drivers on restricted licences – please check with the branch concerned as acceptance of and T&Cs for restricted licence holders varies by branch and some locations do require you to have a full licence.

·       International Licence Information - International licences are accepted, as well as all English written licences. If your licence is not in English you will be required to have it translated into English before we can hire a vehicle to you. Note that a NSW or Queensland digital driver's licence can NOT be used to hire a car in New Zealand, you must bring your plastic licence with you.

·       Additional Drivers – you can add any number of additional drivers to your booking. Simply pop into any RaD branch nationwide and show us the additional driver’s licence to add that person to the booking.

·       Baby and Booster Seats - all branches carry baby seats and booster seats and vehicles are fitted with anchor points. Pricing is all available online so please add any item to your booking or ask when booking via phone.

RaD Car Hire’s branches nationwide are franchised and, as such, individual owner-operators set the appropriate insurance liability, excess reduction rates, bonds, credit card security and conditions for younger drivers or licence categories.

• Please note that not all branches permit hirers on a restricted licence to hire their vehicles, and some branches may hire only selected vehicles to hirers who are under 21 and/or on a restricted licence. Please check with the branch before placing a reservation.
