Explore Tauranga and Mount Maunganui

Tauranga, located in the stunning Bay of Plenty, is a popular city with a holiday resort town feel, renowned for its surf and beautiful white sand safe swimming beaches.
The most well-known and popular beach is Mount Maunganui, with its relaxed beach vibe the swimming, surfing, shops and cafés attract visitors from around New Zealand and around the world. Climb to the top of Mt Maunganui summit for amazing views or walk the track around the base of the Mount. There are many attractions and travel activities with something to suit all ages and budgets. Around town enjoy some wonderful waterfront dining, take a harbour cruise, explore Matakana Island or take a kayak glow-worm tour at dusk.
With an abundance of beautiful beaches and coastal walks as well as the forest tracks, waterfalls and swimming holes of the Kaimai Ranges there is a plethora of places to go for a cruise to in your car and stop for a picnic.
Head down the coast to enjoy more stunning sand and sea or sample some of the Bay of Plenty’s wide variety of fresh produce, or through to Rotorua to see the beautiful lakes, thermal hot pools, maori heritage and the beautiful Rainbow Springs.
