RaD Car Hire Dunedin
The Rental Car Hire pickup process
If this is the first time you are hiring a Dunedin car rental, here are a few pointers to help understand the process, which should help you make the right decisions for your needs;
So what is the rental process in RaD Car Hire Dunedin?
Step 1: Making a booking
This can be done over the phone (+64 3 477 7822) (0800 736 823), or online www.rentadent.co.nz
You will need to know the following in order to make a booking;
Know your rental vehicle pickup date and time, as well as the drop off date and time
Know your kilometre requirements. A short hire (less than 4 days), is likely to have limited km's
Know the type of rental vehicle you will require, ie smallest cheapest, medium size sedan/wagon, 4WD station wagon, people mover or Minibus....make sure it will suit the number of people/luggage you will have or if you need a Trailer
A Full (unrestricted) Drivers License is required, as well as for any additional drivers
A Valid Credit Card is required. Payment however can be made with Eftpos or Debit Card. (if no credit card can be supplied then you MUST pay for the hire amount upfront and also a BOND. The Bond = Insurance excess) *conditions apply
Age may determine the level of excess required on the vehicle
Step 2: Collect the vehicle
We have a number of rental vehicle collection options;
Dunedin City Office: Located at 701 Great King Street North, Dunedin. Vehicles are available for hire 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. See Dunedin City for additional Pickup and Return information.
Dunedin Airport: Located approximately 30kms away from the City. Your vehicle will be left in one of our designated car parks in the Rental Car Park Area. Vehicles are available for hire 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. See Dunedin Airport for additional Pickup and Return information.
Your Accommodation: Call us from your Hotel/Motel/B&B to make a booking. We may be able to collect you if within the Dunedin CBD area.
Step 3: While on hire
Familiarize yourself with the Term and Conditions on the reverse of your Rental Agreement. Should there be any changes while you are on hire be sure to let RAD Rentals Dunedin know as soon as possible. This would include but not limited to;
Damage or involvement in an accident;
Breakdown or any mechanical issue;
Needing to extend your hire for any reason
Tyre damage if you are unable to repair.
Communication is the key in this situation, as there might be a knock on effect to any of the above mentioned.
Step 4: Returning the vehicle
Return vehicles to their designated car parks. See Dunedin Airport and Dunedin City for more information. Make sure you return the vehicle at the specified time full of fuel. In most cases we do give an hour's grace, thereafter additional charges can be added. Again, let us know if you are running late.
