Taupo Mountain Biking

W2K The Great Lake Trail

Almost 100km of single track this is another do-not-miss ride. Starting just out of Taupo the W2K heads off into some easy riding single track, the Headland Loop is more of a downhill section and should be tackled, comes back out onto the W2K track further down, about 1km. This ride is having new trails added all the time so check out the website and get up to date information before heading out. You can spend anywhere from 1-3 days in this area.

Opotiki Mountain Biking

Pakahi Track Motu Bay of Plenty

This is an historic route once used to walk stock through from Gisborne to Opotiki, cutting its way through the Urutawa Conservation area. This route has been resurrected by the New Zealand Government and is now one epic day out in an untouched wonderland. 10k of sensational windy downhill then 10k of completely upgraded single track alongside the Pakahi Stream. Once completed there is a 15km ride back into town, we recommend being met and picked up here after a cold beer!
